Joseph Lewis DiStefano is the fifth child after four older brothers. His parents, Girolamo DiStefano and Katherine Jennie Luisi (Lewis) welcomed Joe into the world on 22 Oct 1922. He, unlike his older brothers, was born in Farm Creek, Duchesne, Utah. He has 7 brothers and one sister.

Farm Creek was located in the beautiful Tabiona/Hanna valley. Today, Farm Creek no longer exists due to the fact it is now a part of Hanna. If you turn at the Hanna refinery and travel about one mile, you will be in the area of Farm Creek.
Hanna is an unincorporated community in western Duchesne County, on the Uintah and Ouray Indian Reservation. It lies along State Route 35 northwest of the city of Duchesne. It’s elevation is 6,765 feet. Hanna, at one time had the bragging rights of having the smallest Post Office in the United States with the zip code of 84031.

Death
Death took Joe at the young age of 63. He passed away on 19 September 1986, eleven months after his brother Leonard died and six months after his brother James passed away. His bother Bill followed in death 10 months later.
